Careers with Meyerson Education Services.

Meyerson Education Services Philosophy

MES academic coaches aim to meet students where they are and provide concrete skills to help them feel successful in school and confident in their abilities. We celebrate and build up student strengths while providing science-backed tools and coaching to address their learning challenges. Every student is different, so we try a diversity of strategies to find what works. We foster consistent and open communication to maintain strong relationships with students, families, teachers, and schools. Beneath it all, we believe that warm and compassionate relationships with coaches and mentors are what allow students to thrive.

Who We Serve

Families come to us when they and their students need an outside expert or voice to help their child grow and meet their academic potential. We use a unique combination of executive functioning coaching and academic tutoring to help students grow and feel like their sessions are useful now and build skills for the future.

What does the work look like?

Our tutors meet with students once or twice a week, usually in person, and implement student-centered sessions designed to meet our agreed-upon goals. Many students work on a combination of executive functioning skills and academic skills. Coaches have the autonomy to plan and adapt as they choose. After each session, coaches send a short email to families with an overview of their session. Coaches meet regularly with MES leadership to talk about student progress and plan next steps.

Academic coaches at MES take on between six and 20 sessions per week. Sessions take place at school during the school day or at students’ homes after school hours. Most sessions are in person in the Bay Area, although we offer online sessions as well. We are specifically looking for coaches who can meet with students in Lafayette/Walnut Creek, Berkeley/Richmond, and San Francisco.

We have long relationships with students, families, and schools and want to offer the best educators in return. If you want to use your teaching skills and work with students outside the structure of a school, this is the place for you.
